Don't be so damned negative all the time, would ya?

I know about the whole "don't blog about work" thing, but I have to this once. Although I can't guarantee it won't happen again. There is this person in my general department that gets on my very last nerve almost constantly. I'm going to refer to this person as 'N'.

N is one of those "one upper" type people, everything that someone says, N has done or experienced or knows something that is more important, more impressive and more exciting than anyone else. N is also a name dropper, and makes a constant point of dropping little comments letting you know that they are in the know about things that you couldn't possibly be involved in. N also rolls its eyes when asked a question that they deem stupid. We have several new people in the department and it takes a while to get acclimated to things in a new job. So, during this time they will ask questions that, to people who have been here for several years, might seem obvious. Most people will answer the question and ask if the questioner needs any assistance ... N will roll its eyes at them and answer in a very exasperated tone and usually say something to the effect of "you really should have known that already." Fortunately for me, I don't have to work very close with N on too regular of a basis, else N might end up at the bottom of Eagle Mountain Lake.

Anyhoo ... that is my rant for today. I will leave you with some random thoughts ...

Wouldn't it be nice if drivers would pay attention to their surroundings while driving?

Breakfast burritos are the best invention I can think of. Eggs, cheese & bacon WRAPPED IN A TORTILLA. Perfection.

The price of gas is ridiculous. I know we all know that, but I just wanted to say it.

I love wearing blue jeans and tennis shoes to work.

Thoughts for Today

I dislike meetings. A lot.

Lunch time needs to be longer so we can play more games during it.

Thursday can never come too quickly in the week for me (it's my knitting night).

I don't like it when people put r's into words where they don't belong; warsh, idear, etc.

I want the writer's strike to be over now. I miss Jim & Pam ... and Dwight ... and Creed.

Random Word of the Day

Occasionally I will have a very random word pop into my head, usually when doing nothing in particular. This morning it happened when I was getting out of the shower. So, today's random word of the day is:

Mephistopheles

Now, when I thought of this word I wasn't really sure what it meant. I knew it was a name but couldn't recall much other than that. Of course that led me to Wikipedia and Reference.com to learn more about this name.

Happy Friday everyone!
