Wednesday - 1/2 way there!
I try not to write any spoilers - but I make no promises. Here's Wednesday .....
Wednesday September 26th:
Private Practice - Somehow, Addison seemed more annoying to me in this one episode than on the entire last season of Grey's Anatomy. I didn't like how Naomi didn't tell anyone she was coming, not cool. And I feel like they tried to cram too many "cases" into one episode. I do like how Pete will call Addison on the carpet for her shit. Overall the episode was cheesy and a little shaky but I'm sure it'll be alright. I will say that at first I was quite irked at the whole lady gone crazy in the department store on the floor counting the tiles thing, I think mostly because I'm not a huge Amy Brenneman fan, I don't dislike her, just not my favorite. But when Violet finally figures out what triggers the looney-ness and the lady just starts bawling I got pretty teary eyed. That was quite powerful. And I swear that was Moon Unit Zappa as the crazy lady! (Ha! It was, I just checked IMDB to be sure.)
Season Potential: I think once they get past the "we're a Grey's Anatomy spin off" it might do really well.
Criminal Minds - I read all over about Mandy Patinkin's departure from Criminal Minds this season, although I wasn't sure if he was just NOT going to be there anymore or if they were going to write him out. The answer is ... write him out. And if the season premiere is any indication of how he will go, I am not amused. I was already sceptical about how the show would be without him, he is amazing (His turn as Rube on Dead Like Me was phenomenal, and that show should not have been canceled) and in my opinion the backbone of the series. I know that Joe Mantenga is going to replace him and he is good as well, so I will give it the old college try, however I can't say that it will be an absolute that I will be a Criminal Minds regular viewer after Mandy is gone. That all being said, this case was alright. There were lots of flashes from Gideon's perspective, since losing his friend/girlfriend or whatever she was to the psycho in the season finale. And he perceived that distraction as making him a less than adequate profiler. I am also not happy with squinchy lip lady having Prentiss be her narc about how Hotch is doing his job. I'd like to see her try it. Squinchy lipped ladies in offices have no idea what it takes to do that job, and shouldn't pretend they do. Back off bitch. That's all I have to say about that.
Season Potential: I'm a little concerned with Gideon's departure and Hotch's neck on the line, but I'm going to stick with it and hope for the best.
Dirty Sexy Money - OK, I'll admit it. The real/main/only reason I wanted to watch this is because of Peter Krause. I'm not ashamed to admit this. And until about 45ish minutes in I thought that was going to be the real/main/only reason I kept watching it. But then, the twist happened. I don't want to ruin it for anyone who hasn't watched yet so I won't give it away, but if the entire show was based on this lawyer bailing his rich and stupid clients out of all the trouble they got into I really don't think it would be all that great. So, to find out what his reasoning is behind why he is putting up with this crap (aside from the obscene amounts of money they are giving him of course) gave me renewed faith that this is going to be a good show. That season pass is going to earn its stripes.
Season Potential: I will definitely be tuning into this one every week.
Stay tuned ... coming on Thursday - The Office, CSI, Grey's Anatomy and Without a Trace.
