Tuesday on the Tube

As promised, here is my recap of Tuesday night TV for the Fall 2007 premiere week!

Tuesday September 25th:
Bones - I was a bit scared when this first came on, because Zach wasn't there and in his place was this other guy (who I never really did catch his name) who I'm not fond of, the actor that is. I don't even know the actor's name. But he came onto Crossing Jordan in the last couple of seasons and his character was really cocky and he didn't really mesh with the others so I didn't like him. And when I saw this same guy on Bones I got nervous. But ... not to worry, Zach came back and all is right with the world. They did a good job of picking up where they left off last season after Angela and Hodgins' wedding was messed up because of Angela being married to some guy in Fiji that she'd forgotten about. The two of them are trying to track the guy down (with the help of a P.I.) so they can annull the other and get married themselves. There was still tension between Brennan and Booth, which was good especially since it didn't last 43 episodes. The case this week was a little lacking, not believable at all, but I have a feeling that when they get rolling this won't be an issue in further episodes.
Season Potential: It'll be a good run. How can it not when I get to look at David Boreanaz for an hour.

Reaper - This show is on the CW ... I know, I know. Who watches the CW? Well I do for a couple of shows anyway. And I think this will be one of them. It's sort of like a Dead Like Me/Wonderfalls/Something Else mix. This first episode was directed by Kevin Smith. When I saw that on the screen I paused the Tivo to check imdb.com and make sure it was THE Kevin Smith, and sure enough it was. I like several of the cast members, the main guy used to be on Grounded For Life. Which alone wasn't a fantastic show (although Donal Logue kills me), but this was the neighbor boy and he was pretty funny I thought. It also has a guy that used to be on Invasion, he was the crazy brother who blogged about the aliens coming. And then there's Ray Wise, who's been on all kinds of stuff like Twin Peaks and 24 to name just a couple. He plays the devil, and made me laugh a few times. As most pilots of new shows, there was a lot of "explaining" which is a necessary evil when it comes to beginning a new show. But I'm going to look past that and give this one a try.
Season Potential: I'm hoping this one sticks around for a bit to flesh out the plot.

Law & Order: Special Victims Unit - I used to not watch this when it first came out, but after catching a couple of reruns I decided to catch up on it. And although I've not watched them in any kind of correct order, I think I've seen pretty much all of them thanks to the USA Network. I thought this was an exceptional season opener. Cynthia Nixon guest starred as a person with Disassociative Identity Disorder (read: schitzo) and she was amazing. It was good to see her in a role that had some teeth. She can be really creepy when she needs to be. I was also thrilled to see the addition of a new cast member, a detective from the Bronx who assisted Fin with some cases last season when Munch was out on Jury Duty. He's not like the other detectives and there will be some clashing but I think that'll make for some good viewing when it comes to a head.
Season Potential: Very solid, should be a great season.

So, there's Tuesday. Stay tuned ... coming on Wednesday - Criminal Minds, Private Practice and Dirty Sexy Money.
