Fall TV Season is HERE!
I'm so excited that this week has finally arrived! This is one of the best weeks of the year for me, Fall TV Season has begun. I will be attempting to post after each evenings shows to give my impressions - and not give any spoilers (to the best of my ability). So here goes, this is actually a double because of Sunday and Monday nights.
Sunday September 23rd:
Family Guy - I cracked up at this episode, it was an hour long which was awesome. The greatness that is Family Guy did not disappoint in this season opener.
Season Potential: Fabulous as usual
Monday September 24th:
How I Met Your Mother - This was so great! If you saw the last episode last season and how it ended (Barney: Legen ... wait for it ....) you will not be disappointed on how it begins this season. There are some fun guest stars this episode and you get a glimpse of the "Mother". Lily has a new hairdo, which I'm still debating internally about. Let me know what you think of it.
Season Potential: Lots of laughs and hopefully some plot advancement
The Big Bang Theory - I actually wasn't planning on watching this show, the previews looked sort of forced to me. But we were eating dinner and it came on so we watched. I was pleasantly surprised with it. I'm not saying that some of the scenes weren't forced, they were, but a lot of the jokes were pretty funny and the chemistry between the 2 guy roommates is hilarious. I think I might give this one another shot.
Season Potential: This won't be the funniest show on TV, but I think it really has a chance of bringing quite a few laughs.
Two and a Half Men - This particular episode was a bit of a beat down to me. This is one of those shows that can be funny, but if I miss one I'm not going to cry over it. I like Charlie and I love Berta, and the relationship between Charlie/Alan and their mom is classic sitcom. But Alan is such a big douche (pardon me, but that's the only word I could think to describe him) and it really bugs me sometimes. He's better left to supporting scenes than carrying them.
Season Potential: Meh. I'll watch it on Tivo after I've cleared all the good stuff out of the way first.
Heroes - OK. I just now got involved in Heroes, about 2 weeks ago at the insistence of hubby. I watched the entire first season in about 3 days. Can I please tell you how hard it is now to watch one episode and then have to wait a whole week until the next one?! I'm dying over here!!! I'd say it was a good first episode of the season. I don't want to give anything away yet - I know some people are still going to be watching on the Tivo tonight. I was surprised by a few things, and not surprised by a few others. We got to meet a few of the new additions to the cast right off the bat and there is some mystery there - should prove to be interesting additions. Now get to watching so I can speak freely!
Season Potential: Amazing. They showed clips "This season on Heroes ..." and WOW. That's all I can say. This is going to be a definite watch first, and re-watch episodes show.
Journeyman - Hubby was the one who wanted to watch this one, and I was mildly interested. I was not disappointed. If you watched and liked Quantum Leap from 89-93 then you will probably like this. It's a little different of course, and I am liking the differences. Its more raw and jarring than Quantum Leap, and this guy gets to come home every so often. I'd give it a try if you are into this genre.
Season Potential: I think that its got really good potential. Its a little random on the first episode to understand what is going on, but it all becomes clear before the end and the show seems to hit a nice rhythm.
So, there's my recap for what I watched Sunday and Monday. Stay tuned ... coming on Tuesday, Bones, Reaper and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.
Labels: television
Awesome recap. I do NOT like Lily's hair. She looks stupid and forced. Like she's trying to be Anne Hathaway in Prada. OMG I just referenced that movie. I'm such a lame-o.
How have we not discussed the pissyness that is incurring because of LOST NOT STARTING UNTIL JANUARY.
